Pine Forest Elementary School, PCSSD and the parents of students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) agree that this compact outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.
School Responsibilities: Pine Forest Elementary School, PCSSD will:
1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the students to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy. http://www.corestandards.org/
2. Hold parent-teacher conferences (at least annually in elementary schools) during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual child’s achievement. Specifically, the school will schedule conferences for each student as follows:
Regularly scheduled Parent Conferences will be held on two occasions this school year. These conferences will be held during two non-student days beginning at 11:00 and ending at 6:00. This year’s conference dates are September 21, 2015 and February 15, 2016.
3. Provide parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress. Specifically, the school will provide reports as follows:

Staff are available to parents during their scheduled planning time. Available planning times are as follows and staff sign-up for the planning time they prefer. A.M. Planning Times 6:40-7:20, 6:50-7:20 & cont. @ 7:40-7:50, 6:50-7:30. P.M. Times 2:55-3:35, 2:50-3:30, 3:05-3:45.
5. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in their child’s class and to observe classroom activities, as follows:
