LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The hospitality and tourism industry has endured challenges like no other as a result of this pandemic. The Arkansas economy lost approximately 44,000 jobs, with the majority being in the leisure and hospitality sector. With hope for an end in sight, the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) will host the Big On Little Rock Hospitality Industry Job Fair on Tuesday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center to help local businesses find talent to fill immediate needs.
More than 40 local hospitality businesses have registered to participate and seek workers. Representatives from sectors across the industry will be there — restaurants, hotels, attractions, event venues — seeking qualified employees for jobs in accounting, administration, management, sales, event set-up, front desk, security, housekeeping, serving, bartending, cooking, groundskeeping, and more.
With immediate needs for part-time, full-time, and seasonal staff ranging from management to entry level trade, there will be numerous opportunities for all ages and backgrounds. This job fair represents the best opportunity yet for workers who lost their jobs in 2020 as well as those Arkansans looking to enter the hospitality workforce for the first time. This is also a great opportunity for summer employment for high school and college students.
The Arkansas Department of Health’s recommended safety guidelines will be implemented and each vendor and participant will be asked to wear a mask. Complimentary parking is available at the 2nd & Main Street deck (parking validation coupons will be provided at on-site registration).
