MAUMELLE, Ark. – A Maumelle High School senior is named as a National Merit Scholar. Clayton T. Boothe was selected as a winner from more than 1.5 millions students who entered the 2021 competition.
“I am so proud of Clayton and have really loved working with him and his family,” said Jennifer Emfinger, Maumelle High counselor. “He is a great kid and will continue to make Maumelle proud!”
Clayton has a 4.3 GPA. He is a member of Arkansas Governor’s School, National Honor Society, Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Maumelle High School band, and the tennis and golf teams. He was recently recognized by Congressman French Hill for his dedication to education excellence.
Through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, nearly 7,500 students from across the country will have won approximately $30 million in scholarships this year.
